An East German radio set. Radios sold in East Germany did not feature Western stations on their dials but East Germans marked the stations with paper. It was widespread but strongly discouraged to listen to Western stations and doing so could bring you to the attention of the STASI

Friedrichstrasse Station: Located entirely in East Berlin, the station was an exception to other ghost stations - S and U-bahn trains stopped here and Western passengers could change to long distance trains on platforms walled off from the East Berliners. It was also a major pedestrian crossing point into East Berlin for Westerners
